IRC Changes and Hiring TOs!

IRC NETWORK CHANGES
Firstly, using irc.xerocreative.com will allow you to connect to our irc networks. While irc.scrollrack.com will still get you there, we will start transitioning the networks name and services to use the "XeroCreative" name.
Secondly, you can now directly connect to the server of your choice by typing in tentacle.xerocreative.com or eskimo.xerocreative.com. Of course, if you dont care about which one you`d like to be on, simply continue to use irc.xerocreative.com
Be sure to update your IRC`s bookmarks accordingly.
YVD SET UPDATES!
Previously the set download for 8.6 was given out with 4 letter set names. Since 8.6 didnt support 4 letter sets, when you used any cards in those sets, YVD would count them as monsters. Ive now modified the sets download script to provide only 3 letter sets meaning even the newer sets will show the correct cards.
Also, Since 8.6 (and the 9.0 betas) cant handle synchros, all the 8.6 set downloads will count your syncros as fusions (its the best work around i can do). Starting with 9.0 'release candidate 1' it will work with synchros properly.

Rule Changes!

After doing a quick database dump of the average users age. XC`s average age is a little above 18... as such...I think its OK to make a few rule changes....
This means both the chat and forums its now more acceptable to use more colorful language and maybe delve into some more uh... colorful topics when appropriate.
This does not mean its ok to disrupt the chats or forums with spam.
This does not mean its ok to flame.
This does not mean to go off topic on, lets say, sex, in the middle of a yugioh deck list discussion.
The rule that our ops and mods will keep in mind is "does what this person say disrupt the forum/chat?", if yes, you`ll still get nailed.
More formal rule changes will be coming soon.

YVD Set Updatery

All YVD sets for all versions are now handled by a single backend database. This means the set makers can just login and update the database on XC for both TCG and OCG then my fancy front end script, can take that database and generate 4 different set files depending on the style and version you want to use... (8.6tcg, 8.6ocg, 9.0tcg and 9.0ocg)...

Yea, I don't think you`ll need to download from the "9.0rc1 (and newer)" yet, as that format is for the YVD 9.0 and X versions yet to come.
We`ll be phasing out all the outside sites (Scrollrack.com and the 4shared.com) shortly, once i figure out what we want to do about the images.

Upcoming IRC Changes.

Our IRC network will soon start using your forum username and password in the near future. Whatever name you use on the forums, is what you`ll use in the chat.
Because of this, some of you funky nicknames may have some invalid letters. For example %, $,!,~ and others, are not going to be allowed if you wish to use your name in the IRC chat.
but no worries, have i got a deal for you! Free name changes (max 1 of this item in your inventory at a time). Simply visit here:

and pick one up!
Be sure to change your name to include only the following letters:
A-Z,a-z,0-9, -, _, {,}, [,], | and `
If its not listed there, don't put it in your name (if you want to use the chat)
If you use nicks on the chat,you`ll want to register them on the forums :X
If you have groups of nicks on the chat, i`ll be making a page available where you can request your nicks to all be regg`d quickly.
In the case that someone on the forum has your IRC name, i`ll take those on a case-by-case basis. If the forum person never uses their name. I`ll just remove their account and allow you to register it.

YVD 9.0 Release Candiate 1 coming

The 1st release canidate for YVD 9.0 will be out tonight. Just kidding, found a bug that needs squishing before this RC1, hold your horses.
It will be a full public download yay!
Keep your eyes peeled on this spot for more informations.
As soon as YVD 9.0 final is out, we will cease all support of 8.6... this includes image and set updates.

UPDATE:
I spent most of the night migrating the MySQL databases over to another server, so the RC1 will wait until tomorrow (Friday). Also, if you notice the site is a bit slow, this is because the MySQL server is hosted remotely for now. I`ll be moving XC`s files tomorrow and the next few days, then switching the DNS, at that point the site will go faster.
UPDATE #2:
Fine Fine! After much whining from you guys, I`ll look into fixing that card disspearing error. RC1 not coming tonight. Jerks! ~goes back to YVD lab~
Also note, i`ll be moving XC to new server tonight as well.
UPDATE #3:
OK Ive pointed XC`s DNS to the new server. Everything seems ok, im watching the load like a hawk (as this new machine is not as powerful as the current server).
Some of you may still be going to the old server for a while... To find out if you are on the new server visit here:

IF you see a blank page, you are on the new server. If you get sent back to XC`s front page or somethign, you are still on old server.
IF you notice anything not working, please let me know in this topic. Anything like 404 errors, broken images, broken forums, etc.

I'm retiring. Was planning to in september with school coming again, but this latest irc drama i've decided I really don't have time for this anymore. IRC's transition to myke is almost finished, and myke will (hopefully) announce a replacement soon.

Yugioh Video Game Worlds 2008!

As you all know a recent XC'er "DarthVader" won the 2008 Yugioh USA DS nationals. well he was able to go to worlds, and at worlds he went all the way to the finals to lose to South Korea. to bad he couldnt take the whole worlds but lets all give a congrats to DarthVader for getting 2nd place at worlds!
